Tell Your Story

Good still happens

What do you do if something extraordinary happens to you–out of the blue? I ask because such an event landed in my checking account on March 10th. I don’t need to describe the boring details, but it involved Social Security. (SS) My reaction was similar to the loss cycle: bargaining, denial, anger, depression, and then acceptance. Initially, I thought, “What? This … [Read more...]

Thankfulness extends beyond the obvious

As I sit at my computer to write this week’s article for Thanksgiving, I am eating a Sees chocolate – a white Apple Pie Truffle. It is delicious, and I am thankful. Yum! We were assigned … [Read more...]

What makes me cry

What makes me cry Memorial Day is one of my favorite days of the year. Why? Two reasons: 1) I LOOOOVVE America and I am SOOOO grateful for the men and women who have fought for our freedom. 2) I run in the 10K Bolder Boulder and sit in Folsom Field Stadium at the University of Colorado and cry with no shame. I stand and clap through the whole Memorial Day Tribute: Presentation … [Read more...]

True giving – sincerity of the heart

True giving - sincerity of the heart Oh the holidays; the happy holidays; memories of childhood wonder; love in the air; Christmas carols humming in our heads; and festivities abounding. Our blessings are immeasurable…… That is one side of the story. That is the ideal. The other side of the story is the family living down the street that has no money for turkey or ham; … [Read more...]
