Sunday, the 11th, started with a play called; a Christmas Carol: A live Radio Play, a first. Performed on the fourth floor of Roebuck Theater on 44th.
If you are as old as I am, you remember family gathered around the radio. There was no TV or computers or electronic games. The radio was it.
This play was adorable. It replicated what went on behind the sound on the radio. A group of six actors told the Christmas Carol story together with “We will be back after a word from our sponsors.” They used props to make the sounds of glasses toasting, the table being set, the door shutting, etc. The actors changed their voices numerous times as most played several characters. It was delightful.
I then went to Rockefeller Center for the 43rd TubaChristmas concert, a first. There must have more than one-hundred Tubas, Baritones, and sousaphones. (I’ve shared more than I know about instruments)
After a beautiful Spanish Mass at St. Patricks, I walked home in a light flurry of snow. Combined with the city lights, it was quite memorable.
Monday was slow. I turned right as I left my building and walked three blocks to the Hudson River. On the way, I walked by CBS Morning Show. My favorite. I didn’t realize either were so close to my apartment.
I had signed up for a cooking class before I left Arizona. I arrive at 6:00 only to learn the class started at 4:00. The time transferred into my calendar in MST, not Eastern. Frustrating.
On the way home, dragging my tail, I passed a sign advertising a student art show, so I went inside, a first. The school, of sorts, was called The Art Students League of New York. On the second floor was an exhibit of the student’s work: Paintings done with oil, acrylic, and water paints; silk screens; and charcoal, ink, and pencil. There were also sculptures made from a wide variety of materials. I don’t know how many students attend classes, but there must have been 200 pictures, all framed, and all for sale. I attached a picture of one I liked — St. Patricks.
It all prompted a new bucket list item.
The rest of the week is forecasted to be frigid. I hope it doesn’t get icy. If I don’t write blogs, you will know why. (no slip and fall for me)

OH, now there are a couple of events I would have enjoyed being with you. The ” live” radio show and the Tuba Christmas. I’m sure I would have enjoyed both of them! Many of your other firsts also, but those two especially appeal to me. Today we are attending a Christmas dinner at Grace Pointe in Greeley with my mother, complete with dinner, and blessed to have her with us! PS. I love my Caddie CTS! Thanks f or the encouragement!
