While on vacation across American Heartland – I will post a short clip each day from a woman living in one of the many small towns we visit….The voice of rural woman…I’m posting pictures from the environment unless I have permission to use pictures of the women…I’ve given them fictitious names starting with “A”. Enjoy!

“…We went to school together and graduated from here. I love it here…Our fathers have both passed and our mothers both live in town. I am a real homebody and we live in the country about five miles north. We have two chocolate labs – one weighs 132 pounds and the other 96 pounds. They are just big hunks, not really fat. I take them walking once or twice a day down our long drive. It has been so hot and humid and they just can’t go that far with this weather. Our mothers both live here and when we are gone they both come to the house and watch the dogs. They are like sisters and they fight like sisters too. They cook and garden and even iron my clothes. It’s great. We will celebrate fifty years in business this January…”
